Abstract:
The effects of LiF and B
2O
3, which are fluxes of ceramic bond of cBN abrasive grain, were studied. The results showed that the optimum binding strength betWeen abrasive grain and bond can be acquired by using Proper content of LiF and B
2O
3 in ceramic bond. However, to improve the strength of samples further, the strength of bond itself has to be considered as a critical cause. LiF and B,O, are advantageous to protect the cBN abrasive grain from reacting with other compositions in the ceramic bond.
