Abstract:
In the field of metal forming, a newly special non-confirming large deformation FEM referred to as the Enhanced Assumed Strain Mode (EASM), has been developed to carry out numerical simulation. To make the EASM applicable to analyze the compress deformation problem, the EASM formulation founded by Simo has been modified in terms of reduced factor. Furthermore, this special element has been implemented into a large deformation program EAS.FOR and used to simulate the metal forming process. Two standard illustrations are given to verify the feasibility and validity of the mode.
