Abstract:
For the given water treatment, the features of the microbiological colonies before and after the addition of the 2-methylisoborneol(2-MIB) were studied, and a method for isolation of a bacterium capable of removing the 2-MIB from the water was proposed. The procedure of the method was as follows:the activated carbon, whose surface was covered by a mature microbiological membrane, was employed to continually treat the water with higher concentration of 2-MIB,and then the sample gained from the surface of the activated carbon was cultivated in the mineral salt liquid culture in which 2-MIB was the only carbon source;finally, one strain, which was identified as
Pseudomonas spp.based on the data of 16S rRNA analysis, was isolated by plate streaks.
