Mathematic Model for Percussive Rock Drilling and Its Application to the Piston Failure Analysis

  • A mathematic model for percussive rock drilling is established by using the theory of stress waves. The model is verified by experiments and used to analyse the stress on the piston and the causes of the piston failure. A criterion of piston material selecting is put forward.
