Investigation of Equilibrium between Magnesium and Sulfur in Liquid Iron
The equilibrium between magnesium and sulfur in liquid iron has been studied by the vapour liquid equilibration method in a sealed chamber. The solubility product for MgS measured is K'MgS=2.36×10-4 and the equilibrium constant has been deduced as KMgS=2.10×10-4 for the reaction MgS=Mg+S.
