Simulation Results of Oscillation Occurring in the Electrical Supply System of a Hot Finishing Mill

Abstract
The reason for oscillation occurring in the electrical supply system of a hot finishing mill is analyzed. The simulation results qualitatively show that either diminishing the capacity of var compensation systems in the electrical supply system or a band-passing filter (BPF) to be connected into the control system of the mill is capable damping the oscillation. The feasibility of the reconstructed two-loop control system is also analyzed tentatively.
