Thermal state experiment and analysis of thin copper cooling stave

  • A new type of thin copper cooling stave was developed in order to reduce the copper consume, depress the price of the single copper cooling stave and assure the cooling effect of the BF in the meantime. The thermal test system was designed as stimulation experiment to determine the cooling performance of the new thin copper cooling stave. The hot and cold surface temperature of the copper cooling stave are respectively 72℃ and 135℃ when the furnace temperature is 1 200℃ and no slag is on the hot surface. There is no large temperature difference between the hot and cold surface of the cooling stave when the thermal shock comes.Expediting the flow of the cooling water has no large influence on the reducing the temperature of the cooling stave. The heat flux of the cooling stave reduces sharply when slag is on the hot surface and the temperature of the hot surface of the cooling stave changes less as the furnace temperature moves. It is found in the experiment that the temperature distribution and heat flux of thin copper cooling stave match the production requirement of the BF.
